Alba is working on our polyphosphate project funded by the NSF.

Alba's statement: My journey in oceanography has been influenced by engaging in several mesocosm studies, conducting specialized culture work, and participating in field campaigns across diverse international settings. I am deeply fascinated by the the intricate interplay of global compartments, driven by physical and biogeochemical interactions. Central to this dynamic are the global nutrients and oceanic dissolved organic matter, serving as a main conduits of exchange. Additionally, I am captivated by their multifaceted roles including in carbon sequestration. Driven by a great curiosity and need to understand the environment, I seek to provide direct evidence on key processes that shape most ecosystems and ultimate climate.

Dr. Joost Mansour
Postdoctoral Scientist
June 2022-June 2023

https://www.linkedin.com/in/joost-mansour-0891abb9/

https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Joost-Mansour

Joost worked on our Salamander Project funded by the Moore Foundation. He used his expertise in state of the art microscopy and omics techniques to study the potential metabolite exchanges between embryos of the spotted salamander (Ambystoma maculatum) and an algal symbiont that lives inside its egg capsules (Oophila amblystomatis).

Dr. Hui Yang
Postdoctoral Scientist
December 2019
to December 2021

Hui's Linkedln.

Hui worked on our Salamander Project funded by the Moore Foundation. Our main goal is to improve our understanding of an endosymbiosis between embryos of the spotted salamander (Ambystoma maculatum) and an algal symbiont that lives inside its egg capsules (Oophila amblystomatis). Hui studied the egg capsule microbiome and the egg polymorphism.
